A) Often you can find similar models from the same manufacturer and apply their user manuals to yours and reset the settings.

A) Hello, I can tell you that you be better off keeping your money. Most departments are going to laser(pin point accuracy&by the time your detector goes off it's too late if it can detect laser),and radar that they use is only on for a few seconds they dont leave it on. Hope this helps

A) YOU COULD CONNECT THE TWO CORDS TOGETHER, BUT IT WOULD'NT WORK VERRY GOOD. THE DIRECT WIRE KIT YOU PURCHACED IS ALL YOU NEED TO DO A CLEAN INSTALL. IT'S REAL EASY, JUST HOOK THE BLACK "LOOP" CONNECTER TO GROUND[ANY METAL UNDER DASH] PLUG RED CONNECTOR INTO ACC TERMINAL IN FUSE BOX. THERE ARE UNUSED TERMINALS SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS TYPE OF INSTALL. PLUG THE OTHER END INTO YOUR RADAR DETECTOR, AND THEN, SPEED SAFELY!

Q) im thinking of buying a radar / laser detector, but im not really sure what i want. im thinking of getting the Valentine One, which detects friggin everything, is the best on the line, and has been reccomended to me by several people. unfortunately, i dont happen to have $350 laying around. i need something that will detect stuff good, along with LADAR, because the last and first time i got pulled, they used a laser, so i guess they are becoming more popular. what is the next best thing to buy? i kinda need to keep it under $230 my best choices seem to be, but not limited to: whistler cobra escort and beltronics. these are the most readily avaliable, but what i need to know is - what radar or laser systems are used the most often by police? is there a standard? what should i look for? thanks for your advice, feel free to email me, and keep the answers RELEVANT - no smartass remarks, please

Is there an easy way to direct wire a radar detector?

A) I don't really know about a radar detector, but you should be able to do it if it has a cigarette lighter adapter. i hooked up my Sirius by cutting the adapter off, taking my visor off, and harnessing the wires from the visor light instead. You can contact me if that makes any sense and you think it might work for you---I do not like to leave long detailed answers. BORING.

What are the "bands" on my new radar/laser detector and what do they mean?

Q) It's a Beltronics RX65 PRO. The bands that it detects are "X", "K", "Ka", "POP", "Ku", "Laser", and "SWS". What do all these mean? What are they? Yea... I guess you dont understand the question. I know each band represents a number, but a number is no good to me. I need to know what each one IS. Are they all forms of police radars/lasers? Are some stronger than others? Which should I keep an eye out for?
